Planet Venus fact
Did you know that Venus is about
the same size as Earth and is closer
to us than any other planet?

Did you know that Ceres, the largest asteroid in our
solar system, is about 600 miles (965 km) across?
Ceres is also the only dwarf planet in the inner Solar System.
Astronaut fact
Did you know that between 1969 and 1972,
twelve U.S. astronauts walked on the Moon?
They brought back 855 pounds of rocks
and soil for scientist to study.

Earth fact
If the Earth were crushed as much as
the matter inside a black hole, it would fit
inside a sphere the size of a pea!
Space fact
Although it is roughly a quarter the size
of Earth, the Moon is far less massive.
It would take 81 Moons to make up the same weight as Earth!

In 1671, Isaac Newton built the first reflecting telescope.
It used a mirror to collect the light.
